Each year the Dam Festival Royalty Court is chosen by a panel of judges.  Royalty candidates enter the contest by first completing a questionnaire, then appearing before the judges to personally answer another series of questions. 

Each candidate must live within the Monroeville School District and be available to participate in festival parades and events throughout our area during the course of their reign.  The Dam Festival Royalty Court consists of:  The King and Queen, who must be between the ages of 16-18 by May 1^st; the Duke and Duchess, who must be between the ages of 12-15 by May 1^st; the Prince and Princess, who must be between the ages of 8-11 by May 1^st; and the Junior Prince and Princess, who must be between the ages of 5-7 by May 1^st. 

The Dam Festival Royalty Court contest forms are distributed to the Monroeville Local Schools the first week in May.  Contest forms can also be obtained in the Monroeville Administrative Offices located at 2 South Main Street.   This year’s completed contest forms must be returned by May 26^th to Betsy Ruggles, Royalty Chairperson, PO Box 156, Monroeville, OH  44847, or they can be turned in at the Administrative Offices.
